My First Peranakan Afternoon

Here's Ed's Sketch for the month of August... The challenge is to use a journaling spot stamp on your layout.
Here's my take on the sketch... I decided to use my Making Memories stash on the layout... I've also combined this with MWL's "Pooi's Pow-wow Embellish Challenge". The challenge is to use a cardstock as a base, and at least 3 different embellishments. The title of the layout must include the word "FIRST" and include a corner dedicated for the journaling of the "FIRST".
Another challenge I'm submitting this for is the Label Tulip's July Challenge which is to scrap the most exciting moment of your life! It is the once in a lifetime (and the FIRST) that I am in a Peranakan attire...
I used buttons, flowers, brads, rub-ons, stickers, PPs and die-cuts on the layout. Wee! I can submit this layout for Pile It On Challenge 9 which is to use at least 3 flowers on your project.

Love how embellished it turned out! :)
This page is to celebrate our friendship and also us having fun in our Peranakan attire! =)

peanut butter & condensed milk toast...

Here's the July 20th ad for Ad This Challenge... The twist is to use things on your layout that aren't intended for scrapbooking rather you have some fun vintage finds, a piece of that favorite dress from when you were a kid etc. I was inspired by the placement of the Dr. Pepper soda bottles and the "Flavour of the Month".
I'm so happy to be the guest designer for Ad This and have my work featured on their blog http://adthis.blogspot.com/2009/07/july-20th-ad-and-guest-designer.html! :) Here's my take...

I decided to include a fork and spoon on the layout to go with the photos of us enjoying the thick toast... :)

Did some embossing on the Magistical Memories Windy Road Ahead Arrow chipboard...
Tied the fork and spoon together with a ribbon and end it with a cute cut-out of cutlery.

Also did some inking and painting on the Magistical Memories Mini Film Strip chipboard which framed the photos...

Just like a child...

Here's the sketch I used from Pile It On Challenge 6. The challenge is to use this sketch and combine it with at least one other challenge.
I also combined it with Magistical Memories Lyrics challenge which is to to use lyrics from a song as your title and Label Tulip Girl Kimberley Neddo's LT kit challenge which is to create something using a mixture of past/current kits.
I had fun with this page! I just added more and more items onto the page till I felt it was complete. I used Magistical Memories Whimsical Flower chipboard to matt the title...
Did some pleating and stamping on the crepe paper ribbon... I also layered the thickers to add texture... The title is from the lyrics of Backstreet Boys "Like a Child"...

Here is the list of items I used from various LT kits...
August 2008 kit:
- PPs: Dream Street Papers, Pink Paislee & Scenic Route PPs
- Jenni Bowlin Studio Apothecary Red sticker
September 2008 kit:
- Green Pompom Ribbon
- Prima Youth Collection Epoxy Stickers
October 2008 kit:
- American Crafts Dolce Fabric Thickers
- Jenni Bowlin Studio Crepe Paper Ribbon
- Label Tulip Star Clear Stamp

I managed to retake my photos! finally! :)

25.04.09

Here's the July 6th ad for the Ad This Challenge... The twist is all about changing the colors on your photo. To use photoshop to do it or experiment with different mediums...

Here's my take... I was inspired by the placement of the object and text in the ad...
I altered the photo using photoshop by adding the colour green to the t-shirt and editing the part of the photo of myself to black & white... I also added some labels onto the photo...

Some labels were printed on PP and used as a matt for the photo..

The rest was all about embellishing! :)

three in a row!

Here's the layout by Alexis Hardy which I lifted... I love this layout of hers! She did this using my layout for inspiration when i was featured!

Here's another take for Label Tulip's Tulip Girl Lift Challenge where we are to lift any Tulip Girl's layouts. I lifted the placement of the various PPs and embellishments.

The title was arranged in the same manner as on her layout...

I inked the edges of the PPs to highlight the edges...

Also added the date the photos were taken on the right corner...

Happy B'day Card

Here's a card I did to submit for the following Challenges:
- Pile-It-On Challenge 3 - To use purple on your card.
- Scrap Outside The Box Challenge - Use clothing tag on your layout / project.
I decided to glimmer mist the clothing tag! I used purple glimmer mist on it, but it was not apparent. So I find other means to use purple on my card... Purple alphas, purple robin's nest dewdrops and purple stickles!

The tag was stamped with a tree before i go over with stickles...

Hope you like my simple card!:)

Born on Hari Raya Puasa!

Here's a layout I did for Label Tulip's May Challenge using Papierhouse's products from the Racial Harmony Kit... The challenge is more about the content of your page. We are to scrap something that nobody knows about you.

I added a cut-out of a dragonfly behind the stamped image of the Malay Girl...
As for the background, did some stamping of patterns and also to form a border for the page...
Some inking of the edges of the cardstock and on the stamped pattern..
Some tearing of the PP...

Here's a page i did for the Ad This Challenge and Wati K's UYSC... The challenge is to use mainly our blue stashes.. I dug out what I could to complete this layout... I glimmer mist the background PP to make the white circles blue...

I used up these clear blue stickers and blings... :)

And i managed to find this photo where both of us are wearing blue!

Using the various blue alpha stickers, buttons and blings i have...

i love to create & inspire...

So here's what i did to the banner! i figured that i had no place to put the banner up so i used it on this layout of mine... This one is for Label Tulip's March Challenge... The challenge is to use packaging from the LT March kits on your layout...
The flowers were cut out from the Prima flowers packaging. The Making Memories layered buttons packaging was used to matt the title and pop up the part with flowers below the word 'inspire'.
I used the Prima packaging's swirls for masking and used them on the LO.

Love how the no-photo layout turned out! :)
