hort park

Here's a page about my recent trip to hort park, inspired by the following challenges:
American Crafts Autumn Week Challenge

Pile It On Challenge 23: Fall - Use a leaf or leaves and combine it with at least one other challenge.
Ed's Weekend Challenge at Laines: To use multiple photos on your layout. It has to be 4 or more photographs.

I decided to do a page full of all the interesting things I saw... I sprayed glimmer mist to the cardstock and inked the edges of the PP.

I used the thickers to form 2 eyes on the cloud chipboard.. =) Doodling was done around some of the photos.

I cut-out a flower from an AC PP and adhered the Flair adhesive badge on it. Did some layering of flowers and leaves.

The edges of the cardstock were distressed and inked.

American Crafts supply:
Tropicals Cardstock (#71249)
Letterbox Postcard Flair (#70050)
Black Nutmeg Chipboard Thickers (#43042)
Everyday Album Kit 8x8 (#90194)

Colours of Nature

Here's what I did for UYSC by June . The challenge is to use up our old brads and eyelets on our layouts. I started by inking the background cardstock...

I decided to embellish these chipboard trees with as many eyelets and brads as possible.. The chipboards were first sprayed with glimmer mist...

Here are the close-ups...

Using up some of my Making Memories nature stash on the layout.

It took quite a while to punch all these brads through the chipboard, but i love the effect and texture created! =)

Gong Xi!

Here's my take for HappyScraps Graphic Inspired Challenge 4. I was inspired by the focus towards the crow and the draping below it.

I did my page on a Hambly overlay. The draping was recreated using chipboard and dewdrops.

I also inked the edges of the overlay to create the effect in the graphic.

The rest was all about embellishing the layout! =)

selamat hari raya 08

Here's Ed's Sketch for the month of November.

Here's my take on the sketch.. I cut the lace cardstock into a circle and doodled the scallops around it with pen, stickles and puffy paint.

The fabric button was inked to give a distress look to match the other embellishments.

Stickles were added to the embellishments to highlight them..

The title is placed on a clear acrylic where i used a background stamp on it and painted the back of the acrylic to reveal the image..

Class of 2009 the Grads Postcard Album

Artz de Scrap's November Challenge is up on the blog! Go check out the other DT's take! :)
The challenge is to alter an album using Postcards. Here's my take..

Instead of painting over the postcards and using them as a base, I decided to use the images and words on the postcards to go with the photos I've chosen. I have so many postcards, there must be some that will go with the photos..=)

The postcards were held together by rings embellished with ribbons..

The pages were embellished simply with PPs, stickers and chipboards.

I also highlighted portions of the photographs with chipboards and stickles.

Added a '9' over the '7'..

Some of the postcards were not of a proper rectangular shape, these add interest to the pages.

Some postcards have words on them that turn into journaling for my pages.

Some postcards make great backgrounds for the pages. For example, this outta the box postcard gave me an idea to cut out the photo and placed it coming out of the box!

Added a '4' on the sticker 'fifth grade' to change it..:P

that's the end of the album, hope you've enjoyed the pages! =)

I've been featured on the Laines Gallery!!

Wee! I've been featured on the Laines Gallery for the 2nd time! :)
Here are the project and layout that were featured..

It's a Beautiful Day

Here's what I did for MWL IreneGwen's FABRIC MIXED challenge.
1. Scrap a 'close to nature' 12x12 layout (anything natural.
2. You can only use ONE cardstock and incorporate the rest with FABRIC.
3. You can only use embellishments related to 'close to nature'. Example : Flowers, butterflies, fabric buttons, stitching ... etc.

I started by stitching the fabrics which are also nature related to the cardstock..

I gathered all my nature stash for this layout... Stickers, flowers, felt, chipboard and more! I also looked for stash related to rainbows to go with the rainbow in my photos...

Layered the embellishments to give more texture...

Lastly, the cardstock was glimmer mist and inked around the photos and embellishments.

Love how colourful the page turned out! :) I'm submitting this for Pile It On Challenge #21 - Color Challenge as I have blue, green and yellow on my layout!

everything green

Here's a green page I did for the following challenges..
Groovie Covers Challenge - October : To use this cover as inspiration.

Ad This Challenge - Oct 26: To use ad as inspiration. I was inspired to use mainly one colour and nature theme for my layout.

Groovie Challenge by Janis: The challenge is to create a monochromatic layout. Why not scrap the color that best describes you?

I was inspired by the many book covers on the Groovie cover. So i did a multi-photo layout with lots of different shapes on it.. The shapes had a nature theme to it, inspired by the Ad This Oct 26 ad...

This layout is about a green themed crop i went to. So I used green photos, green PP and green embellishments on it!

Green stickles were used to doodle on the embellishments to highlight them..

Also did some embellishing at the bottom of the layout with ribbons and dewdrops to frame the sticker.. I always love how dewdrops manify patterns, in this case, the pattern on my ribbon! :)

Yay! I've won the Ad This challenge! Can't wait to receive the next ad..=)
I've also won the Groovie Challenge! thanks for picking my layout, Janis!

hari raya

Here's an orange page I did for the following challenges...
{Create} October Challenge: Scrap a page with Hari Raya Theme. Scrap a page about this happy occasion.
Ed's Weekend Challenge - Orange at Laines: In the spirit of Halloween, the challenge is to create an ORANGE layout.
I love how it turned out.. I masked the pattern of the lace cs onto the cardstock and inked the edges.

The circle chipboards were inked and embossed orange. I also added some orange buttons, flowers and dew drops.

Stickles was used to doodle on the cardstock, chipboard, thickers and flower...

Love how the masked pattern complimented with the hari raya theme! =)

I've just won the {Create} challenge ! woohoo! thanks for picking my layout! :)
