Scrap Idol & My works...

I didn't get through Scrap Idol.. But i'm alright with it.. i kinda expected it... I've noticed a pattern in what kind of layouts most people love... Most love layouts with lots of layering.. I do admire people who can do layering really well.. But it's not really my cup of tea.. I prefer to try out new things.. new ideas, new techniques, everything i find interesting.. something no one has done before..:)

I was quite glad i didn't get in.. then i can concentrate on Project Scrap-Away! Congrats to those who got in.. I'm happy to know that 4 Groovie Girls got through the 1st round! can't wait to start on the challenges..:)

So here are the layouts and project i submitted for Scrap Idol.. Yay! i can finally post them! I LOVE MY LAYOUTS! :):)

This first layout is for UYSC... I used only rub-ons and stickers on this layout.. Did quite a bit of doodling to the page to link up the rub-ons..
I'm happy i managed to create a pattern on the cardstock with these rub-ons and stickers... I love how this page keeps me relax.. :)

The 2nd layout is for Groovie's NSD Photo Challenge... Everyone in the photo has to scrap a layout with this photo... Got quite a few entries so far... Waiting for more! Did this fun layout to convey the fun we had at the National Scrapbooking Day Fun Fair at MWL...I added some doodles to these fun PPs! I love how Love, Elsie PPs just brings out the fun of this photo!

Groovie Girls!!

The 3rd layout is for Groovie's May Challenge and {Create} May Challenge... The challenges are similar to give tribute to a woman... This layout is dedicated to my mum..
Did quite a bit of inking and tearing.. Just using up my old stash!

Love how this simple layout turned out!

Here's a box i altered for MWL NSM Scrap Challenge... The theme is Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. The challenge is to include a non-scrapbooking item in your project or layout... I hope i'll win!! :P but there are so many others who produced great layouts! I think it's quite unlikely for a project to be chosen since usually layouts are more popular...

This box will be used to store my photos for scrapping...I wanted to alter this box with only non-scrapbooking items! I thought maybe since most of these items are used to store scrapbook stash... they should be acid free? (i'm not sure) :P I distressed this box's exterior and interior, using corrugated board & twine on it..

I re-used some of Making Memories plastic packaging for brads and acrylic paint and embellished them with stickers, paint & doodles...
I applied rub-ons to corrugated cardboard and added beads, brads, eyelets, sand and fun flock which i placed in this plastic container that came from BoBunny brads that i bought... Added some stickles to outline the heart.. :) Here's how the sides out the box look like.. Fun, Family, Friends and Vacation... I love shaking my box!! hehe..

hi feli. i love your style and you should do everything to enhance it. i love the carefree and happy feeling of the layouts when i see them. not going into s.idol doesnt make you a level lower, it makes you a stronger person and a chance to explore more of what you like. so stay with what you love, i still believe in your potential and how good a scrapper you are!!!
