the happy couple

Here's MWL Anne-Marie's Color Challenge.

I did a layout for a friend who just got married. These colours suit the happy occasion perfectly!

Did some stamping on cardstock as a matt for the photo and stamping around the photo as a border. Added the 3 colours of embossing powder to the chipboard and highlighted some parts of the chipboard with puffy paint.

Doodled the swirl with stickles...

Here's how I gave it to her, in a 12x12 Pageframe so she can hang it up.

At the moment, she put it on her study table. Everyone who went into the room saw it and picked it up to have a closer look. hehe! :)

It's a Beautiful Day

Here's what I did for MWL IreneGwen's FABRIC MIXED challenge.
1. Scrap a 'close to nature' 12x12 layout (anything natural.
2. You can only use ONE cardstock and incorporate the rest with FABRIC.
3. You can only use embellishments related to 'close to nature'. Example : Flowers, butterflies, fabric buttons, stitching ... etc.

I started by stitching the fabrics which are also nature related to the cardstock..

I gathered all my nature stash for this layout... Stickers, flowers, felt, chipboard and more! I also looked for stash related to rainbows to go with the rainbow in my photos...

Layered the embellishments to give more texture...

Lastly, the cardstock was glimmer mist and inked around the photos and embellishments.

Love how colourful the page turned out! :) I'm submitting this for Pile It On Challenge #21 - Color Challenge as I have blue, green and yellow on my layout!

Peranakan Queens for A Day

Here's what I did for Papierhouse September Challenge. The challenge is to create a layout that is predominantly green as Ramadan is here.
I combined it with MWL Emeline's Repurpose; Reinvent Sept Challenge.
The challenge is to use at least TWO non scrapbook items on your layout. It has to be items found in your home or office. We are to use it to create embellishments or simply just showcase it on your page.

I used the Maya mist June gave me on the cardstock. Decided to scrap this photo where we attended the class by Kristy...

I knew I just had to add these Peranakan items I had with me! Added the magnet from my cousin and the pencils I bought and gave away to these friends of mine..

The rest was just layering and embellishing! =)

030209

Here's the Groovie Challenge by Maya. The challenge is to create a layout about 'Celebration'. We are to include the following in our layout:
-Colour theme: Red, White & Black
-Multiple photos
-Stickers
-At least a handmade embellishment by yourself
-Scalloped paper

I also combined this challenge with MWL Aida's Scrap by Numbers Challenge. The challenge is to scrap a layout with the following:
- Title must be a number or a date.
- Keep within 15 to 20 points limit.
How the points are calculated :
- Each item used on the layout is ONE point be it cardstock, paper, an embellie, a flower, a brad etc.
- Paper - any 1 pattern paper is considered 1 point. Every single flower or cut-out from the pattern paper and used on the layout is 1 point, 3 flowers cut-outs is 3 points.
- Stamp - when you use a stamped sentiment, if you cut it up, each piece you USE on the layout is 1 point. A stamped image that is used intact is 1 point.
- Mist or paint - Each colour you use is 1 point. Use the mist or paint anywhere in the LO. This is the only exception where you can use it as many times as you like on the LO.

Here's my take on the challenge... I did some tearing to the PP and inked the edges...
Added some mist and ink onto the Magistical Memories Snap 2 It Frame chipboard...
Decided to mist the cardstock to create texture...

Here's my tabulation of points:
2 Photos - 2 Points
Title - 1 Point
Chipboard - 1 Point
3 Red Binding Wire - 3 Points
1 Ribbon - 1 Point
3 Gaffer Tape - 3 Points
1 Button - 1 Point
PP - 1 Point
2 Cardstocks - 2 Points
Journaling – 1 Point
Mist (Passion Red) – 1 Point
Rose Red Ink - 1 Point
Stickles (Xmas Red) - 1 Point
Thread for stitching - 1 Point
Total - 20 Points

I handmade a flower using Zutter rings, ribbon and gaffer tape. Also stitched a button to complete it. I love my flower! :)

Teen Chess Club PP (#34634)
Tinsel Foil Chipboard Thickers - Cherry (Metallic) (#42895)

My First Peranakan Afternoon

Here's Ed's Sketch for the month of August... The challenge is to use a journaling spot stamp on your layout.
Here's my take on the sketch... I decided to use my Making Memories stash on the layout... I've also combined this with MWL's "Pooi's Pow-wow Embellish Challenge". The challenge is to use a cardstock as a base, and at least 3 different embellishments. The title of the layout must include the word "FIRST" and include a corner dedicated for the journaling of the "FIRST".
Another challenge I'm submitting this for is the Label Tulip's July Challenge which is to scrap the most exciting moment of your life! It is the once in a lifetime (and the FIRST) that I am in a Peranakan attire...
I used buttons, flowers, brads, rub-ons, stickers, PPs and die-cuts on the layout. Wee! I can submit this layout for Pile It On Challenge 9 which is to use at least 3 flowers on your project.

Love how embellished it turned out! :)
This page is to celebrate our friendship and also us having fun in our Peranakan attire! =)

experiment...

Here's what I did for MWL's DT call in July 2009. We had to use Sizzix die-cuts on the layout. Since I didn't have a Sizzix machine, I collected a pack of die-cuts from MWL to complete this layout.
What came in the pack were die-cut flowers and frame... Decided to do a no-photo layout. The background is a Core'dinations cardstock which i sanded. Masking of the flower die-cut is done to the cardstock.
The Sizzix die-cut flowers were inked, glimmer mist, embossed and embellished with Robin's Nest dewdrops. I also added stickles to highlight certain parts of the layout.
I especially love how the background cardstock turned out! And everything on the layout looked like treasures that were found and picked up from the sea!
The Sizzix frame was dipped in UTEE to create texture. I applied alcohol inks, Perfect Pearls, some glass glitter and Robin's Nest dewdrops on it.I also did some stamping on UTEE and used it as a matt for the title. Alcohol ink, Perfect Pearls and stickles are used to bring out the stamped pattern.

A pity i didn't get a spot in the MWL DT, but I'm happy I gave it a shot! :)
